From a love of nature to a small business
Wend started Hare Beneath the Hedgerow in 2025, turning her love of nature, folklore and seasonal living into something she could create herself.
The business is deliberately small. Wend pours the melts in her kitchen, works in small batches and gathers many of the botanicals herself. That hands-on approach is a big part of what makes the brand feel different from mass-produced home fragrance.
The collection changes with the seasons, alongside a core range available throughout the year. Autumn brings scents such as Crackling Campfire and Cabin in the Woods, while other fragrances draw on everything from summer evenings and cottage gardens to the smell of the outdoors after rain.
Scents that follow the seasons
The names might draw you in first, but Wend has put just as much thought into what sits behind them.
After the Storm combines rain and petrichor with moss, pine, musk and forest notes. Midsummer Moonrise brings together white musk, amber, patchouli and lavender. For autumn, Cottage Garden Crumble mixes rhubarb, cinnamon, sugar, apple and rose, while Crackling Campfire combines cedarwood, smoke, vanilla, moss and amber.
You can also choose your own combination with the Pick ‘n’ Mix set of three botanical wax melts.
